Addicted to the Word

“Addicted” or “addiction” means:  “to be physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance.”

Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,

Ephesians 5:18 NLT

In this verse, wine can be referred to as a metaphor for worldly things. You can get addicted to wine (worldly pleasures).

Force yourself to spend time in God’s Word in order to get addicted to it, in such a way that you are physically and mentally dependent on this substance – God’s Word.

Instead of filling yourself with worldly pleasures, which will ruin your life, fill yourself with the Holy Spirit.
