Why do people feel like they need to belong? Why do people feel the need to be loved?
The answer is quite simple. That is how God created us to be. We were never meant to be isolated, living in fear.
Isaiah confirms this.
Isaiah 43:1 But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.
Many people struggle with approval addiction. They have this unrealistic need to fit in at all cost and be approved by all, just to realize that not everyone will like them or accept them for who they really are.
Sooner or later they are so trapped in this addiction trying to be accepted and approved by others that they end up living a life of being miserable, sad, oppressed, empty and hopeless.
As believers, where made to stand out and not to fit in.
The world should see us as the chosen ones, the redeemed of God. As His light that shine through us, we would be able to attract those who hunger for Christ as only God can give us a true sense of belonging.
We can’t change the world by being the same is it.
We have to intentionally make choices in the way we live so that our lifestyle could reach people for His kingdom without us even saying a word. Our lifestyle should be doing the talking.
We are transformed daily, but we do not need to fear, for God is with us.
The All Mighty Creator of heaven and earth has called us by name, we belong to Him.
The moment we realize and embrace His agape love for us, we will be changed from inside out, resting in His grace, love and presence.
