While sinning, sin often does not look that sinful. We often lose sight of sin, which makes us vulnerable to temptation.
One does not focus on the sin while sinning, but we focus on the temporary “good feeling” and then minimize the sin to try and justify it.
In Mark 9 God shows us that only Jesus can deliver us from evil.
It is scary when evil is in control. Evil is destructive, but it is often minimized. Remember, the enemy walks like a lion waiting to devour its prey.
Jesus delivers grace, and His grace is greater than any evil. He liberates us from sin.
We need to be so focused on the Holy Spirit that we don’t long for that temporary “good feeling”. We should pursue righteousness.
A good place to start is to admit, like the father in Mark 9 that we need help.
Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”
