Serving means “to perform duties or services for another person”.
Josh Hagee once said:
“The measure of a man’s greatness is not the number of servants he has, but the number of people he serves.”
In John 13:3 we read that Jesus knew 3 things:
1) He knew God gave Him all authority.
2) He knew He came from God.
3) He knew He was returning to God.
Jesus knew who He was in God, therefore He chose to be humble so that He could serve others.
That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not be served—and then to give away His life in exchange for the many who are held hostage.
Matthew 20:28 MSG
The moment you start to realise who you are in Christ Jesus, you won’t care anymore what the world says about you and even pride will fade.
Jesus, the Son of God, came to serve others. He washed His disciples’ feet! If He did that, we can’t even think of not following His example.
