The story of Peter’s betrayal of Jesus is familiar to many. (Read Matthew 26:69–75)
Three times, Peter denied knowing Jesus. Three opportunities to stand with Him- missed. And then, the rooster crowed. Peter remembered Jesus’ words… and wept bitterly.
But here’s what’s remarkable: that was not the end of Peter’s story.
At that moment, Peter had not yet received the Holy Spirit. He acted out of fear, self-preservation, and human weakness.
Yet after the resurrection and the outpouring of the Spirit, everything changed.
Peter became unrecognisably bold.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
Acts 4:13
The same man who once crumbled under pressure now stood fearlessly before crowds and authorities, proclaiming Christ with power.
What made the difference? He was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Peter’s journey reminds us that failure is never final. With God, transformation is always possible. And when the Holy Spirit fills us, He empowers us to live boldly, love deeply, and stand unshaken.
