but the gift of God is eternal life

Fishing with Christ

Fishing

Jesus wants us to go fishing with Him.

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Matthew 4:19

Fishing is supposed to be fun, but when no fish seems to be interested in the bait, it’s not as fun anymore. As followers of Christ, it is important to make use of the correct bait.

This is accomplished by depending on the truth of His Word and sharing the Good News with love and compassion. It happens often that people go fishing with the wrong bait – even spiritually.

An attitude of judgment, pride, and condemnation is not from God. Love, grace, repentance, and forgiveness, on the other hand, are from God.

Jesus said, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” The key to success in ministry is to follow Jesus’s example.

Follow Jesus and become fishers of men.

1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he [b]meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the [c]rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
