God Created All Things Good

God Made It All — And It Was Good

Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Genesis 1:31

When we read the opening chapter of Genesis, we see God’s creativity in motion — light piercing the darkness, seas separating from land, plants bursting into life, animals filling the skies and waters, and finally, humanity formed in His own image. Each day ends with a simple but profound declaration: “God saw that it was good.”

But on the sixth day, after creating everything, God doesn’t just call it “good” — He calls it very good. That’s not just poetic language; it’s divine affirmation that His creation was complete, perfect in purpose, and fully aligned with His will.

This truth reminds us that our world, despite its brokenness today, was birthed in goodness. Every flower blooming in spring, every ocean wave, every star in the night sky — all of it reflects the beauty of the Creator. And so do you. You were made with intention, crafted in love, and declared very good by God Himself.

As believers, this verse also calls us to gratitude and stewardship. If what God made is good, we’re called to care for it — to protect the earth, to value human life, and to live in a way that honours the Creator.

Today, take a moment to notice the goodness of God’s work. Whether it’s the warmth of the sun, the laughter of a loved one, or the quiet peace of prayer, remember: it’s all from Him, and it is very good.
