Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
In the Good News Translation it states:
“People learn from one another, just as iron sharpens iron.”
As a believer, child and friend of God, we should be open to learn from the council of the Holy Spirit as Jesus gave us the Him as the Helper, to direct us in all truth.
We have this great opportunity and privilege to journey life with fellow believers.
All of us has different lives, and all have made mistakes along the way, therefore we can learn valuable life-lessons from each other.
It is very important to be accountable to a Godly mentor so that we can learn from our own mistakes, but also the mistakes of others.
As believers we should be open to receive direction from those who have Godly wisdom and the fear of the Lord, those whom God has chosen to journey life with us.
A true friend are the one that does not always say what you want to hear, but will speak the truth and rebuke in love if needed, so that God’s glory can prevail.
Proverbs 15:22 (NIV)
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
The wise learn from his mistakes, the wiser learn from the wise. Therefore, be the wiser.
