but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Complete Joy

Joy Dogs

Joy is something that everyone desires.

Philippians 4:4, Habakkuk 3:18, Psalm 64:10 and Romans 5:11 have something great in common.

What do all these scriptures have in common?

The phrase “joy in God”!

“Your unhappiness is due not to a want of something outside of you,
but to a want of something inside you. You were made for perfect happiness. No wonder everything short of God disappoints you.”

-Fulton Sheen

Sheen’s words are so true. God is the ultimate fulfillment of our joy.

I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

John 15:11

Stop trying to find joy in temporary worldly things.

When you find your joy in God, it will be constant and complete.

Like a dog who is always excited to see his owner, so God feels about spending time with you, and you will feel when you find your joy in God.

1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he [b]meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the [c]rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 1 - NKJV
