Delivered from suffering
8 For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. 9 Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, 10 who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us, 11 you also helping together in prayer for us, that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the gift granted to us through many. 2 Cor 1: 8-11 NKJV
Challenges is part of life. In fact, the Word states that we must rejoice when all kinds of trials and tribulations come our way. It establishes our faith and enable us grow into maturity.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 NIV
When the focus is on our own abilities, there is no place for God’s glory.
It all comes down to surrendering all our concerns, fears and worries to Christ; trusting Him, His will and His time frame.
Our total dependence should always be on Him as we die to self daily.
Phil 1:6 confirms that God is in control, not us. Therefore we can be confident in knowing that He, who has begun a good work in us, will complete it as well.
