God Uses Weakness

Where do you run when you are facing feelings of failure? To what do you turn to when you are not able to do what God has called you to do? We all struggle with something and often see that as our weakness, but God has some good news for us!

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:1-4 ESV

God comforts us in that we will not ever face condemnation because of what Jesus did on the cross. We don’t have to hide like Adam when we fail or are in moments of weakness, because Jesus has come to set us free!

You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

Romans 8:9-11 ESV

Sin causes death, but because of Jesus, we are ALIVE! God (in grace) deals with the guilt of our sin and its power. God wants to live with us through His Spirit and empower us to do what He called us to do which we cannot accomplish on our own.

Allow God to use your weaknesses to show you your dependence on Him.
