Lost coin

The lost coin

Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?  And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, “rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!”  “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Luke 15:8-10 NKJV

I am so grateful that Jesus used parables to explain to us His truth!

Parables can be described as a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson.

In this specific parable Jesus used the example of a  coin (that was found after it has been lost) to explain to us how much God loves us;  and about the celebration,  when we acknowledge sin for what it is, repent and intentionally turn away from it to follow Him – wholeheartedly.

In verse 10 it states that there is much joy in the presence of the angels of God over only one sinner who repents!

I can’t even comprehend how amazing this  joyous occasion must be,  but I am truly grateful that He never gave up on me!
