Ephesians 5:7-14 (NKJV)
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
God created light for a few reasons. One is that it is there for us to see where we are going and what we are doing.
The other reason is so that nothing can be hidden.
We are called people of the light and are therefore supposed to walk and live according to it’s brightness.
The bright light of God exposes our heart motives, it corrects us and direct us to the righteousness and freedom in Christ.
When we are in Christ, we have no part with the unfruitful works of darkness, and we walk in His light daily, by standing up for what is right in God’s sight.
Thank God for this new life – a life in the light of Christ.
