For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Identity labels

When someone “binds” a label (or a so-called name-tag) around your neck, you might mistake it as your identity.

The truth is actually that the moment you “bind” God’s Word around your neck, (heart)  it gives you your true identity in Him  and from that moment on He equips you with the weapons to fight the spiritual war.

This word-based “name-tag” gives you access to certain places (God’s presence) just like a VIP tag would give you access to the “VIP places”.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:3-6

Sometimes we get confused and don’t always understand what is going on  in our lives, but in verse 5 to 6 we read that God will guide us. We shouldn’t worry about understanding things.

Bind God’s love and faithfulness around your neck.

If we wear our word-based tags around our necks, we will be guided by God.

Queen Latifah once said,

“Be bold, be brave enough to be your true self.”

Don’t let the world define you, let God and His Word define you. Never be afraid to walk in your identity in Him. That is the true you.

1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he [b]meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the [c]rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
