I think if we are truly honest with ourselves, we will be able to admit that it is not always nice to keep on doing good, especially when you feel that you have been disappointed, dishonored or mistreated so many times.
Sometimes you might even get discouraged as you have been sowing for quite a while now, without seeing the results you have been hoping for.
It is in times like these that I intentionally redirect my focus from my feelings towards the truth, in other words towards the Bible.
Jesus knows us better than we know ourselves. Galatians chapter 6 shares with us some crucial details regarding sowing, investing, teaching, and the importance of the motive of the heart while we sow.
I just loves God’s promises as He is the only One that is able to keep it. In Galatians 6:9 it states:
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Isn’t this just amazing? God knew that sowing isn’t always easy and uplifting, but at the end, it will produce fruit as long as we do not lose heart. It is all about not losing heart while we sow.
Let’s journey together on this by reading together:
Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
