Death & Life

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;  I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:10 NIV

The devil only wants death in our lives and to do that he makes us sin.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God  is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23 NIV

Wherever there is sin, there will be death. For example cheating leads to a dying relationship; murder leads to a dying life; worrying leads to a dying rest etc.

Before Jesus came to die on the cross, sin had a power over us which causes death.

Jesus came to give us much more than just forgiveness, He came so that we can have an amazing fully-lived life.

Jesus didn’t only forgive us of sin, He set us free of the power that sin has over us.

Sin that is forgiven still kills, but sin that has no power can’t kill anymore.

Now we can say “sin is not my master”

1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he [b]meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the [c]rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
