but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rock Foundation

rock foundation

It is human nature to want stability and a foundation.

A foundation is a solid part that keeps everything stable that rests in it.

As humans, we tend to find our rest/foundation in worldly things like the approval of people and the feeling that we belong.

We all know the story of the two men building houses— the one on the beach, and the other on a firm rock. The rain came, and the “beach builder’s” house crashed but the “rock builder’s” house stood firm.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.

Psalm 18:2 NLT

We need to find our rest in God, for He is the Rock we can trust. He will never give up on or ever forsake us. He protects and saves.

1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he [b]meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the [c]rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
